1. Who we are
CarReviews (the website and the phone hotline , the "Service") is operated by ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. It is part of our Terms of Use.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account: e-mail address, password (stored only in a protected, scrambled form by our login provider), phone number, and name if you give it.
- Reviews and content: ratings, tags, prices, trip details, comments, logos, change suggestions and messages to the administrator.
- Reports and company requests: your name, e-mail, company name, role, message and any link or evidence you send.
- Agreement: the version of the Terms you accepted and when.
Phone hotline
- Your calling number, date and time of the call, and the keys you press (for example company codes, ratings, places and prices).
- Voice recordings of messages you leave, and the written version our administrator types from them.
- Our phone provider creates a technical record of each call.
Collected automatically
- Usage statistics: visits, company lookups and calls. Phone numbers in these statistics are stored in a scrambled (hashed) form.
- Security information: internet (IP) address and browser information, used by our providers and by us to prevent abuse, robots and repeated reports. For reports, we store the internet address only in a scrambled form.
- A robot check (Cloudflare Turnstile) on login and sign-up.
3. How we use it
- To run the Service: accounts, reviews, the phone hotline, and showing and playing reviews.
- To approve writers, enforce our Terms and Content Policy, and prevent fake reviews, conflicts of interest, spam and abuse.
- To handle reports, company requests and legal requests.
- To contact you about your account, your review or your report.
- To see how the Service is used and to improve it.
- To comply with the law and protect our rights and the rights of others.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not show advertising and do not share your information for advertising.
4. What is public
- Published reviews (ratings, tags, prices, trip details and comments) are visible to users of the Service.
- Published voice messages can be played to callers on the hotline, and their written version can be shown on the website. A voice can identify a person.
- We do not show your e-mail address or full phone number to the public or to companies.
- We do not tell a company who wrote a review, unless the law requires it (for example, a valid court order).
5. Sharing and service providers
We share information only as needed to run the Service, with providers that process it for us, including:

We may also share information: when the law requires it, or to respond to valid legal process; to protect the safety, rights or property of users, companies, the public or us; and if the Service is transferred to another operator, who will be bound by this policy.
6. Browser storage
The website stores a few items in your browser: your login session, your language choice and similar settings. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our robot-check and font providers may use their own technical storage according to their policies.
7. How long we keep information
- We keep information as long as we need it for the Service, for our legal obligations, and to resolve disputes.
- Published reviews are kept while they are published, unless you delete them or they are removed under our Content Policy.
- Call records, statistics, recordings of messages that were not published, and closed reports are deleted after a set period.
- The administrator receives periodic summaries by e-mail, which may contain copies of this information. These copies are kept in the administrator's protected e-mail account and are deleted when a deletion request requires it.
- Copies in backups are deleted over time in the normal backup cycle.
8. Your choices and rights
- Access and correction: you can ask for a copy of your information or ask us to correct it.
- Deletion: you can delete your own reviews, and ask us to delete your account, your phone number and your recordings. We may keep information we must keep by law, or to prevent fraud and abuse (for example, a blocked number).
- Voice messages: you can ask us to stop playing your voice message and to keep only its written version, or to delete it.
- To make a request, write to from your account e-mail, or tell us your phone number. We may need to confirm that you are the owner of the account or number. We will answer within where possible.
9. Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect information, including access controls, admin-only access to private information, encrypted connections (HTTPS), scrambling (hashing) of phone numbers in statistics, and robot checks. No system is completely secure. If a security breach affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by law, including New York law.
10. Children
The Service is for people 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child gave us information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes
We may change this policy. The version and effective date are shown at the top. If the changes are significant, we will inform users on the website and, where needed, ask for agreement again.
